Welcome to Crossways Methodist Church, a new and exciting chapter in the life of four Methodist congregations who have chosen not simply to work alongside one another, but to become one Church, united in Christ while continuing to worship, witness and serve in the communities we have called home.

Crossways was formally launched in September 2025, in a memorable and joyful celebration led by the then Chair of the West Midlands District, Rev. Novette Headley. It was a day filled with worship, prayer, thanksgiving, hope and a palpable sense that something new was beginning. The church was packed, the singing was enthusiastic, the Spirit was moving, and, importantly, nobody had to ask, "Which church are we at today?" We were all there as one!

Our journey began with four congregations: Wombourne, Springdale, Cranmer and Beckminster. Each has its own history, character, traditions, friendships and stories of God's faithfulness. We are not seeking to erase those identities. Rather, we are bringing them together as different parts of the one Body of Christ. As Paul reminds us:

"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ." 1 Corinthians 12:12

That is at the heart of who we are.

We believe that God is calling us into this new season, not merely because it is practical, sensible or necessary, but because God continually calls his people to discover new ways of being the Church for the sake of the Gospel. Our unity is therefore more than an organisational arrangement. It is an opportunity to deepen our life together in Christ, to encourage one another in faith, and to become more effective witnesses to God's transforming love.
